Counsellor

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself as I am, then I can change."  Carl Rogers

My Special Interests

These include - but are not restricted to - women's issues, bereavement, loss, life crises, and illness / health challenges. I also work with a variety of other concerns, and have had some experience of working with women survivors of domestic abuse.

My Approach

As a Focusing-Oriented Counsellor, I value an approach that facilitates discovery of forward-living steps, and nurtures attitudes of openness and friendly curiosity towards oneself.

My Practice

My counselling practice is situated in Plumstead, Cape Town, and is accessible via public transport routes.

 What Counselling Can Offer

Counselling can offer a safe, companioned passage through a crisis, a loss, an illness, or perhaps a more general sense of being ill-at-ease in the world.

It can be a rich self-resourcing option for people who wish to explore and vitalise their life process and relationships, find a deeper sense of authenticity and a more satisfying "fit" in the world.

The counselling relationship is a confidential space for attending carefully to one's suffering and life's journey, and discovering fresh forward-living capacities.

Counselling can support new growth steps, which are more likely to happen in the attentive presence of another person than otherwise.

"Listening makes a space into which something new can come."  Eugene Gendlin
